The Fourth Session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water will be held in Cairo, EGYPT on 14-16 October 2018 at Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The Islamic Conference is being held every two years with the participation of the ministers concerned with water – or their representatives – in the 56 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The Conference aims to coordinate efforts and develop joint cooperation among the OIC countries to deal with the challenges related water resources, drinking water, sanitation, and facing disasters whether floods, drought or water-borne diseases.
During the previous meetings of OIC and based on its recommendations, OIC developed a plan for the implementation of such cooperation based on the contribution of the developed Islamic countries to support the less developed Islamic countries.
The fourth conference aims at adoption of the implementation plan for the OIC’s water vision and pushes its executive steps forward to ensure the achievement of the cooperation targets.
The work program of the Conference includes meetings of senior officials on the first day, the main ministerial meeting will be on the second day. Finally, on the third day there will be optional technical field trips for some relevant projects.
